New Hope's Clinical Services

There are four separate phases to treatment at New Hope.

Our Orientation is a 30 day treatment readiness program that includes 100 hours of classes, individual counseling, evening meetings, group counseling, and seminars. Our research-based approach is explained, and expectations for treatment are discussed.
Jennifer Jurik, our Orientation Director

Deena Kearns, our Assistant Clinical Director
Our Residential phase is of variable length. Clients move forward on the basis of the progress they make, not any set number of days. A vocational/educational assessment is made, and an individualized plan is created. Clients are enrolled in one of our five school tracks: Marist College courses, Eldred Central School District high school courses, GED classes, business and computer courses or individual tutoring. In addition to individual counseling, problem-solving groups, peer groups, and other program tools, clients may also be placed in one of our trauma groups, parenting track, or relapse prevention groups.

Full time employment is a requirement of our Re-Entry phase, located in Poughkeepsie, NY. Care plans are individualized to take into account child care needs, vocational/educational needs, age, and other special circumstances of the client. Individual counseling, group counseling, relapse prevention, seminars, etc. are continued throughout this phase. Clients who meet the criteria to graduate get an individualized aftercare plan. Poughkeepsie staff:

  • Poughkeepsie Facility Coordinator-Lora Montalto, CASAC
  • Consultant—Catherine Curtin, CASAC, CRC, Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Counselor—Marianna Colello
  • Vocational Case Manager—Jennifer Burnley

We continue to support our graduates through the Aftercare phase. The aftercare plan is adjusted as circumstances require, and typically runs for a year or more after graduation.
